Achal Cashews

Mushroom and Cashew Tart

Tart Douch:

Flour        200 gm
Fat    50 gm
Butter    50 gm
Salt           4 gm
Garlic, crushed   4 flakes
Water       as required


Mushroom  100 gm
Cashewnut      200 gm
Cheese sauce    300 ml
Parsley, chopped 15 gm
Salt       5 gm
Pepper   2 gm
Butter    30 gm
Onion, chopped     100 gm


1. Prepare a tart dough with the given ingredients and keep for 30 minutes.
2. Make 5mm thick sheet and cut into 8 tarts of uniform size.
3. Place each one in a "U" shaped tart mould and refrigerate for 10 minutes.
4. Meanwhile melt butter and fry onion, mushroom and cashew bits. After 1 minute add cheese sauce and seasoning.
5. Fill this mixture into the tart and bake at 200 C for 10 minutes.

This can be taken as an evening snack or cocktail titbit or as a breakfast dish.

Accompaniment: Ripe mango or pineapple with cherry and half-boiled egg.
